You Rock: Chris Erne

Each month Winona Woods recognizes an ordinary person who does extraordinary things. This month’s You Rock comes from Don and Patty Ryan and goes out to Chris Erne.

Don & Patty write:

We would like to recognize Chris Erne as the “You Rock” neighbor of Winona Woods for this month. Chris and his wife Kelly moved next door to us on Pontiac Drive 13 years ago. Over the years Chris has done countless things to help us and many other neighbors. Friendly, thoughtful, caring and considerate are just a few words that come to mind when describing Chris.

Without ever asking for his help he suddenly appears helping us with so many things. This winter was especially brutal, and a bigger problem with us because of surgeries and other medical problems. Chris always made sure that our driveway and sidewalks were clear and he did this for others as well. During the summer he is always there cutting our grass, cleaning the pool and helping out in other ways. Many times throughout the year we will hear a knock at our back door and there is Chris delivering a delicious hot meal, even in the middle of a snow storm! He is an amazing cook.

Chris and Kelly have raised two beautiful children, Kyle 13, and Chloe 8 who both emulate the above mentioned attributes of their dad. A few weeks ago Chris and Kyle came over and cleaned out all of the trees growing in our gutters – the entire house. Kyle and Chloe are always willing to help clean the pool and do a great job. On a regular basis Kyle cuts our grass.
We are so grateful to have Chris and Kelly and their two wonderful children as neighbors – they don’t come any better! So Chris this tribute is to you – because in our eyes “You Rock” more than you can ever imagine!
