A Time of Loss – A Time of Calm
I am writing this to share some of my thoughts as well as some words written by Tim who my family lost recently. Tim was much younger than me but also much wiser and I loved him. Trust me, this is not a downer, but just some thoughts.
The world we live in today seems different from the one Tim and I or maybe even you grew up in. Like our teenage years in the 60’s, 70’s or even the 80’s “Love Disco”. It isn’t just cell phones, the internet, the 24 hours news cycle, the fast pace we live in, or even the pandemic. It is something different! We know that 20/20 hindsight may come with some blinders and the good old days may not have always been that good, but it used to be a calmer place to live.
In the past few years, we seem to have become a world of fear, a world of constant panic, and a world of breaking news! Our eyes have been opened and sometime what we see is not so perfect, however this could be an opportunity. An opportunity to learn, to listen, to care, to breath, and most of all find some calm. We need the calm.
I will miss Tim, but I will remember his warm smile, his unconditional love for everyone, and his faith that we can all live together in peace and love.
