Bluebird Harvest Pilot Program
Winona Woods is pleased to announce a pilot program with Bluebird Harvest for the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons. Many of you may be familiar with the Good Food Collective CSA Program which we offer in the summer. The GFC requires a common drop location which we can only provide during the warmer summer months and as a result we cannot host the program all year-round. However, as we learned at the last General Meeting, Bluebird Harvest is able to deliver directly to homes during those times. While the two programs do differ we think this a great opportunity for our neighbors to continue to receive healthy choices and quality produce, and receive additional services right here in Winona Woods.
That being said, Winona Woods will be helping to present this service as a pilot and will be interested to hear your thoughts and feedback at our email address contact@winonawoods.com in order to make a through evaluation for the continuation of the program over the summer.
Keep in mind, the primary focus is of our organization is community building not endorsing or peddling products to neighbors. Although, we are happy to help provide additional high quality services to neighbors and encourage residents to continue to engage in the program on an individual basis over the winter, we will want to return to a communal drop in the summer in order to address the primary community building goals of Winona Woods and encourage resident interaction.
What is it?
Bluebird Harvest offers a unique, year-round program in the Rochester area, delivering top ‘number one’, premium quality produce to homes and businesses.
How does it work?
Choose what you want and have it delivered to you right at home! You have the ability to select the size of your produce box, the frequency of delivery (weekly, bi-weekly, once a month, and even one time to try it out) and set your produce preferences. Our template menu is emailed to you each Friday and you have through 11:59 PM on Monday night to customize your order. For the Winona Woods Neighborhood Association, we will have either a direct to home delivery during the winter months and possibly a drop off at Trinity Communion Church where members coordinate the deliveries during the summer.
How much does it cost?
Prices range from $25-$38 a week depending on the size of the box you select. There is no membership or delivery fee, just the cost of your order. Customers can even purchase extra items to be included with their standard order each week.
How do I sign up?
Simply visit www.Bluebirdharvest.com then follow the directions listed HERE in order to be a part of the Winona Woods Group and recive the discount.
What if I do not like a few items in my Harvest Box?
First, you can set your produce preferences so if there is produce you will never want—we know. Second, do you not want cantaloupe this coming week? Simply go to your menu and select the cantaloupe, you will then be given options that can be subbed for the cantaloupe in your next delivery.
Can I add items to my order in addition to the weeks menu?
Yes! Want to add a watermelon or more oranges to your order? You can add more items by selecting which items you would like to add to your box in addition to the week’s template menu.
When and where do I get my order?
Your produce will tentatively be delivered on Wednesday each week at your designated drop off location. For more info, go to our website Bluebirdharvest.com and check out our how it works and FAQ page We look forward to working with and more importantly, building our relationship with you!
How does Bluebird Harvest differ from the Good Food Collective or other CSAs?
